A provocative and compelling performance woven from innumerable true life accounts blending theatre, dance, music and multimedia. A retrospective lens into the greatest mass displacement in human history.
On the 70th anniversary of the Partition, EnActe Arts and Noorani Dance brings you, through dance, music and storytelling, the true life stories of the people who lived through the Partition of Greater India into India, Pakistan and subsequently Bangladesh.The Parting is inspired by true stories from witnesses of the 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan. This performance is a chance to reflect on this pivotal and tragic time in the history of South Asia, and provoke dialogue across generations, borders, genders, ethnicities and religions.
