Bob Poole: Nature Roars Back
National Geographic Live
In the heart of Mozambique is the East African Rift, where one tectonic
plate is slowly breaking into two. Straddling that rift is Gorongosa National
Park, one of the most beautiful and biodiverse places on Earth, and this is
where you’ll find Bob Poole.
Bob is an Emmy award-winning cinematographer and a National
Geographic “lifer.” Growing up in East Africa, where his father worked in
wildlife conservation, his relationship with Nat Geo started as a teenager,
working on a film about elephants. Bob has traveled the globe making films
for a variety of organizations, including PBS, Nature, NOVA, the BBC, and
more than 35 films for National Geographic.
