DESCRIPTION:Brooklyn-based company Gallim celebrates elemental connections through exploration of the human experience. Under the direction of founder\, artistic director\, and choreographer Andrea Miller\, Gallim’s international success spans the world of performing arts and cultural festivals\, including collaborations in film\, music\, visual arts\, and fashion. Over the past decade\, the company has performed many renowned venues and festivals including The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Kennedy Center.  \nGallim Studio also acts as a nexus for creativity. Over the past two years\, Gallim has expanded the programming at its Clinton Hill studio to include residency space grants for young and emerging artists across disciplines\, master classes and open company class\, as well as free public talks that delve into life as an artist and other relevant topics. Gallim has obtained recognition from many prestigious foundations including The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and The Office of the Brooklyn Borough President for its Brooklyn studio community programming.

SUMMARY:Ballet Folclórico Nacional de Mexico de Silvia Lozano
DESCRIPTION:The Ballet Folclórico Nacional de México (BFNM) is an institution tasked with the dissemination\, preservation\, and promotion of the Culture of México\, both at home and abroad. In its long career\, the BFNM has performed in over forty countries and five continents\, receiving numerous awards and prizes\, as well as being designated an Ambassador of Mexican Culture. As of 2020\, the BFNM will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of its artistic career\, continuing the legacy of Mexico’s leading researchers and practitioners of folklore\, dance\, music\, and costumes. The Ballet Folclórico Nacional de México was featured in the original production of Xcaret Mexico Espectacular which has performed 365 days a year for nearly 20 years–with over 200 artists taking the stage throughout its run. This show was directed and choreographed entirely by Silvia Lozano\, General Director and Choreographer of BFNM.

Mexican musical ensemble Son Luna provides the traditional music of Veracruz\, Mexico and dance troupe Jóvenes Zapateadores showcase the evolution of Son Jarocho roots with different rhythms and dance styles. \nMasterfully displaying dance genres from the region and beyond\, this large scale production provides strong entry points for presenters seeking a highly energetic folkloric piece.
