NOTE: We currently do not offer volunteer opportunities for individuals under 18 or currently enrolled SJSU students.

Benefits

  • Engage with Student Staff and other SJSU community members
  • See incredible shows at the Hammer!
  • Validated parking at the 2nd and San Carlos Street Garage when working an event
  • Yearly appreciation dinner event

Expectations

  • Keep a professional and friendly attitude
  • Learn the layout of the Hammer and be able to assist patrons to their seats
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Participate in Community Outreach/Ambassadorship (see more below)

Onboarding Path

  • Attend an Informational Meeting. RSVP here
    • Three per year in October, March, and June
  • Complete the SJSU required online training, fill out digital DocuSign form
  • Attend Volunteer Welcome / Orientation session
    • Two per year in September and January

Community Outreach and Ambassadorship

  • Pick up fliers at events or weekly at Box Office
    • Ambassador Guides are available by request for additional information about upcoming shows
  • Distribute to your friends/family/local communities
    • Describe what’s coming up at the Hammer Theatre Center!
